Disclaimer

GrowProfit tracks and reports your investments. It does not trade, advise or file. Here is what that means for how you use it.

1. Not investment advice

Nothing in GrowProfit, including returns, allocations, comparisons with an index or any insight, is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold an investment, or financial, legal or tax advice. Decide with a qualified adviser where you need one.

2. Not a regulated intermediary

GrowProfit is software for tracking and reporting. We are not a stockbroker, depository participant, investment adviser, research analyst, portfolio manager or mutual fund distributor, and we don’t hold registrations as one. We never place trades, move money or hold your funds, and we sell no financial products.

3. Tax figures are for review

Capital gains are worked out from your lot ledger and laid out for review with your CA, including in a Schedule 112A layout. Until the tax rule sets are signed off by a practising chartered accountant, they are marked “not filing-grade”.

Your tax return, and the figures in it, remain your responsibility.

4. How accurate the figures are

  • Figures depend on the statements you give us and the prices we receive. Third-party statements can contain errors or arrive late.
  • Market prices and NAVs may be delayed. Values you enter yourself, such as property or unlisted holdings, are your estimates.
  • Where GrowProfit can’t know a value it shows “—”, and holdings valued at cost or on a stale price are marked “Partial”.
  • Every transaction keeps the file and row it came from, so you can check any figure that matters.

5. Examples on this website

Families, portfolios, people and figures shown on this website are illustrative examples, not anyone’s real data, and they don’t predict any result.

6. Past returns

Returns shown are calculated from past transactions and prices. Past performance doesn’t indicate future results, and every investment carries risk.
